Air rifles in South Africa do not require licenses as long as they are of 5.5mm or smaller caliber.

When bringing an air rifle into South Africa, they will need to be cleared by the South African Police Service (SAPS). SAPS has areas in the international airports where rifles are automatically sent to. After collecting your luggage, you will need to collect your rifle from the SAPS area.

The use of silencers / moderators is permitted in South Africa. A license / permit for silencers is not required.

The event will provide compressed air for participants on the sight-in day and all competition days.
